On the 25th of February 2023, an ordinary meeting of the National Executive Committee (NEC) was held at our Centre regional headquarters in Yaoundé, chaired by our National Chaiman John FRU NDI.

Effectively present were 49 statutory members out of 87 attesting to a largely attained quorum and the resolutions of the said meeting have been signed and distributed for the attention of all militants.

I exhort all party members to read and ensure the strict application of these resolutions particularly regarding the ongoing reorganisatiom exercise and the announced pending ordinary convention.

The national reorganisation exercise is progressing serenely. I am most please to announce to party members that for the first time, a Regional President younger than the Party was elected in the South Region. I once again extend my hearty congratulations to our fellow colleague and to encourage the youth within the party not to lose any hope. The future of our party lies in the hands of our young members, who are coming through the rungs of the party.

Another major decision was the announcement of the ordinary congress of the Party to be held in Yaounde from 28 to 30 July 2023. In this regard, nominations are now opened as per section 3 rule 10  sub 4 of standing orders of the National Convention. Further information on the organisation of this important event in the life of the parw will be adequately communicated to all party members.

Another decision of major importance was also taken concerning the loss of quality of some former members of our party. Hereupon, the NEC unanimously took note of the self-exclusion of 34 members (9 NEC members and 25 members from different local structures) in order to finally put an end to the activities that have repeatedly harmed the reputation, interests and tarnished the image of the party. The arrogance of these former members has led them to commit unacceptable acts within our grassroots structures and against the party hierarchy, in violation of our statutes and internal regulations. It is important to state that if the grievances of these members are above the organs of our Party, then they should imperatively cease to be members of our Party.

The Secretary General calls on all party members to remain calm conceming the legal proceedings pending before the courts, filed with the sole purpose to create a buzz in public opinion. Fortunately, the SDF is governed by texts and our actions must comply with our constitution.

As in the words of our National Chairman during his last anniversary message, "I call on all party members and sympathisers to remain deployed on the field. We are a party ready to govern and govern we will. We will deliver our social policies that will transforrn this country once in power, but to do so we need to come together as one and speak with one voice".
